Welcome to the Traditionally, Yoga is a life work. It brings us to an experience of reality which is not obstructed by the limitations of ideas and opinions. The mind gives us only a model of reality. Freeing ourselves from the illusion that the model is the reality, is the purpose of Yoga. There are eight aspects to Yoga practice, of which Asana, or the postures and stretches of Yoga, is one. Yoga enhances our health. However, physical health is not the end point of yoga. We are teachers trained in the classical tradition. Our classes all include asana, that is, the phsycial postures of Yoga, and also meditation, taught from a perspective that life is more interesting than the things the mind brings up for us. We also train yoga teachers who will be able to offer more to their students than only stretching and bending. Our aim is to bring the interesting and life changing benefits of Yoga into everyday life. You can find these described more fully in our Teacher Training pages. If you looked up a reference book, you would find that the period called Classical Yoga relates to the great Yoga Sutras. You might think
Yoga is for enlightenment … But what is enlightenment? |
