Distance
Education All our programs are available by Distance Ed. You may start whenever you like -
you are not confined to the on-campus timetable. You will be able to work at
your own pace through the work-book. It will be possible for you to take a
little longer to complete the course than the on-campus students, if you
wish, though we will keep tabs on you to make sure you keep up your study
habits, and you will have to report in at regular times agreed on with your
tutor. You will set deadlines for work to be completed. Of course you may
make as much contact by phone, email, or fax, as you wish, and you are
encouraged to visit the College whenever possible, and take part in the
in-class interactions with staff and other students. Additionally, staff will travel at given
times to the other Australian states, and you are expected to attend the
sessions in your capital city. Notes specific to individual programs follow. Diploma of Classical Yoga Full Yoga teacher training in one year.. More Here All lesson material is provided
and comes in fortnightly lesson packs. Distance ed students will be
invited to join a chat group to allay the loneliness of the long-distance
learner! This will act somewhat in the
same way as the study groups for on-campus students. In addition, wherever possible you will
work with any qualified teacher in your district, who will allow you to begin
to put your training into practice, provide feedback, and ask you questions about
yoga in class. Prerequisites: At least one year’s background in Asana As with all our trainees, you
are expected to have a good understanding of posture already. We expect to train you to teach posture
– we do not expect to train you to perform posture. In training you to
teach, we expect that you will become capable of a clear understanding of
anatomical processes, which are the ultimate benchmark for proper asana. And there are many ways of being right. Assignment work is sufficiently detailed
for us to see if you are making bizarre or incorrect statements, and if there
were a major query, we would ask you to visit the College or provide a videotape or a folio of
photos. All other material is quite amenable to distance study. Certificate of Classical Yoga One year training in the wisdom teachings of the Yoga
Sutras.. More Here All lesson material is provided
and comes in fortnightly lesson packs. This program trains you in the personal practice of
meditation and helps you explore the radical transformation of life, being
and reality proposed by the Yoga Sutras.
In addition it gives you the skills to teach, to share what you learn
with others. Prerequisites: None, though it is
preferable that you have some background in meditation and non-dualist
philosophy. The course may be undertaken by ·
·
present Yoga teachers
whose meditation and philosophical training was lacking; or by ·
·
persons who wish to
explore and teach the transformative disciplines of yoga, but not asana; or
by ·
·
persons who wish to
become full yoga teachers but at present do not have sufficient asana
experience to be admitted to the Diploma course. If so, you may go on to the
Certificate of Asana and Anatomy in the following year to qualify with full
Yoga teacher training. Make sure you
get enough asana experience by attending two yoga classes per week throughout
your first course, if you wish to continue. All distance ed students will be invited to join a
password protected internet chat room, purely for discussion and support in
their studies. Certificate of Asana and Anatomy One year teacher training in asana and anatomy as related
to asana.. More Here All lesson material is provided
and comes in fortnightly lesson packs. Prerequisites: At least one year’s background in Asana. We do not expect to have to train you in
asana, we expect to train you to teach it. This course is open to ·

completed the Certificate of Classical Yoga and at least two yoga classes per

the teachings of the Yoga Sutras, plus selected readings from other
traditions.. More Here All lesson material is provided
and comes in fortnightly lesson packs. Prerequisites: None, though an established practice in still-mind
meditation and some interest in non-dualist philosophy is preferred. Meditation is supervised via a meditation journal, which
helps you become the witness observer as well as prompting you to maintain
your meditation practice. Postgraduate Diploma of Classical Yoga One year program to broaden and deepen your primary
training.. More Here As this program is achievable on a points system, you could
build some of your credit points in your local district, eg points for seva,
or karma yoga for the community.
Project work and assignments will be undertaken within study groups,
which may include a password protected internet group. Your understanding of anatomy will reach
another level; you will immerse yourself in many asana styles; and you will
